These one of a kind river rocks were individually selected from a river in Vietnam by the artisans at Mai Handicraft in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. First several layers of a natural black lacquer are painted on the rocks to add a smooth dark texture. The artisans wait one week between each layer to allow it to dry properly. Then the fish are hand drawn on each rock in silver leaf and orange paint that creates a fabulous image of the fish flowing in water. Final coats of lacquer are added to preserve the beautiful images. Each rock is very similar in design but varies in size and shape. No two are exactly the same. Rocks are sold individually.
